fierce lajdi

Speaking of diamonds in the previous post, here, I give to you the one and only Grace Jones eating diamonds.. Gotta Love.

true story - diamonds are forever

True story...

Shirley Bassey's Bond Theme Song.. Love.

Diamonds are forever,
They are all I need to please me,
They can stimulate and tease me,
They won't leave in the night,
I've no fear that they might desert me.
Diamonds are forever,
Hold one up and then caress it,
Touch it, stroke it and undress it,
I can see every part,
Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me.

I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll luster on.

Diamonds are forever,
Sparkling round my little finger.
Unlike men, the diamonds linger;
Men are mere mortals who
Are not worth going to your grave for.

I don't need love,
For what good will love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll luster on.

Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Forever and ever.

diamonds- carat

The weight of a diamond is measured in carats. The word carat originated from the carob tree. This might sound rather weird but  they tiny seeds  of this tree are known for their uniformity and consistent weight. Therefore all gemstones were weighed against these seeds till the system was standardized...

Though carat is often confused with the size of the diamond it is a measure of weight. As the carat weight of a diamond increases so does its rarity and therefore its price...

One carat is divided into 100 points - a diamond of 75 points weights .75 carats. The carat-weight of a diamond is the easiest measurement to determine. Most importantly, two diamonds can be of equal carat-weight, but their value can differ greatly due to their cut, color, and clarity.

More about diamonds? Don't forget this post!

nardi loves (a) teese

The pretty Dita von Teese wearing some nice Nardi Jewels.

1965 bulgari

At times I wonder if you  get my sarcasm, I think it is obvious when I am sarcastic but in case you missed it then you know now.. Though about the Bulgari necklace in the previous post I was a 100 percent sincere, its gonna happen! Nevermind that now lets see some facts about this pretty thing! Its made of yellow gold with diamonds, turquoises, amethysts and emeralds. There are also a pair of matching earrings and the whole set once belonged to Lyn Revson (whos jewellery collection was legendaaary) , wife of Charles Revson who founded Revlon... Imagien that

the ideal diamond cut (or the 2 first C's in diamond)

Most round brilliant-cut or fancy-shaped diamonds have 58 or more carefully angled flat surfaces, which are called facets. It is the precision of each facet’s placement that will affect the amount of fire, brilliance, and ultimate beauty of a diamond.
Brilliant Cut - 84.37 carat Diamond sold back
in 2007 by Sotheby's Geneva
No other material on Earth can capture and mirror light the way a diamond does. But transforming light into brilliance necessitates outstanding skill. Most diamonds are cut to maintain maximum weight from the original rough stone, forfeit potential sparkle. To accomplish an Ideal Cut is more tricky, complicated and expensive, nonetheless it presents much more brilliance in the end.

If a stone is cut too “deeply” or too “shallow”, light is lost through the base and sides -  leading to a darker apperance. A round brilliant diamond cut with 57 facets and perfectly symmetrical proportions captures and beams back light in all its brightness and sparkle.
